this fragile fabric that's on your chest
hides a heart that thinks it's best
to kill the frostbite, you light a fire
that drowns the flesh but leaves the wires
you sit like stone by frozen walls
in disbelief of it all
don't grow old inside
just grow old outside
common senses can uneven the floors
we can walk it off or sit still like a stone
either way we're always reaching or doors
all we've got to do is get rid of the walls
it's too cold inside
it's too cold outside
don't grow old inside
just grow old outside
it's like you wake up repeating dreams
we operate this big machine
at times you wake up someplace else
without a name to call yourself
how many years young do you feel?
how many young years?
Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
A mind-blowing batch of jazz-informed hardcore exploding with drill-press riffing and throat-destroying howls. Really great! Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2022
Found this album, among others, on a whim through YouTube. Gave em a listen, and found myself vibing to just about all of it for about an hour or two. Hank The Driver
