we would dive into the ocean
with our heads on fire
then our bodies hit the water
like concrete and barbed wire
oh i might’ve found you
on highlands we knew
i’ll find the best ways to make it worse
our lives look better in reverse
we had visions more like nightmares
the colors snuffed out
so i raced to your apartment
and found you strung out
oh i tried to jumpstart
your body with mine
with my ear pressed on your chest
holes consume all we have left
we collected all the moments

All the different riffs and emotions conveyed by them really made me feel something, but right at the end of Salad it's when I truly felt something spectacular and could not contain my emotion. Beautiful work. It needs more listeners. blueberry2001
Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
Glad PIO wrote more songs; sad these songs will be their last. More fast-paced, math-rock, fun-times music. Thanks for the tunes and the good times! RM
A mind-blowing batch of jazz-informed hardcore exploding with drill-press riffing and throat-destroying howls. Really great! Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2022
